The Department of Neuroscience at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Responsibilities may include working independently and as part of collaborative research groups on basic science research projects to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the regulation of REM sleep in mice and to understand how disturbances in REM sleep contribute to the development of psychiatric disorders.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop independence in research through designing and supervising research projects, writing grants, and peer-reviewed publications.
