Job Summary:

The Research Services Senior Clinical Sciences Professional is responsible or routine research activities in support of clinical and epidemiological studies.

This position requires familiarity and experience with clinical or epidemiological research, preferably in emergency or trauma care.

This position will exercise independence and work with the PI and Program Manager to assist the team to conduct clinically relevant research conducted in international settings. The job is predominantly in- person and duties will be performed in the U.S. from office buildings on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical aspects and assist the team leads to oversee the day-to-day operations of the study
  • Collect, code, organize, and summarize data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of study sponsors, study protocols, the Department of Emergency Medicine, hospital/clinical standard operating procedures, COMIRB and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Independently master study materials, including but not limited to protocols, data collection forms, study-specific variables, and other essential study documents
  • Create data management and tracking tools (e.g., REDCap, ACCESS, Excel) to support data collection and tracking of project/recruitment activities.
  • Carry out straightforward data analysis (e.g., summary data, histograms) and have basic skills in interpretation of descriptive statistics.
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly group meetings

The principal investigator (Dr. Nee-Kofi Mould-Millman, MD PhD MSCS) conducts research related to (emergency) trauma care in resource-constrained settings internationally. Funding support comes from multi-year project grants from federal sources (e.g. U.S. Department of Defense) and non-governmental foundations. This research team focuses on observational studies and interventional trials related to emergency and trauma care for life-threatening injuries in resource-constrained settings, with a current focus in South Africa. The candidate will assume the role of Research Services Professional within a highly collaborative and exciting multi- disciplinary team in the USA and South Africa.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2-years of relevant biomedical, public health, clinical, or allied-health research experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3-4 years of clinical or health related research experience, including data management or data quality control
  • Experience working in global health or trauma- related research
  • Master's degree in a relevant biomedical, public health, clinical, or allied- health discipline.
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Experience in an emergency department or prehospital or inpatient setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good familiarity with medical/research terminology, medical charts, and research regulatory requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to think creatively, adapt quickly and work independently
  • Excellent team player and contributor to the larger goals of the research from an operational level
  • Enjoys working with data relating to human subjects research
  • Self-starter with a desire to improve human health through research
  • High Level Skills with Computer-Based Tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Etc.) as well as REDCap (creating forms, running reports, exporting datasets).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE $56,169 - $71,447.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
