Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the training of veterinary students in Foundational Sciences (25 - 55%):
 a. Participate in the curricular activities for Year 1 and 2 students, including but not limited to content expertise in the various disciplines, facilitation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) activities, foundational science lectures & laboratories, veterinary issues discussions and presentations, and other ancillary activities as determined in the curriculum development process.



Key Responsibilities
2. Pursue scholarly endeavors and professional self-development, with opportunities to engage in research, as negotiated (40 - 70%):
 a. Develop a self-sustaining research program.
 b. Participate in the development of post-DVM training programs.
 c. Participate in the research mentoring of veterinary students.
 d. Participate in local, national, and/or international continuing education programs



Key Responsibilities
3. Participate in college and university committees. Represent the college to external persons and agencies, including funding agencies (5%).

The candidate is expected to incorporate the founding principles of the College of Veterinary Medicine of student-centered learning, reverence for life, and strategic partnerships and alliances in their work, and to contribute to development and implementation of programs consistent with these founding commitments.

This position reports to the Dean. Academic activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; research activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Research; and professional activities are supervised by the Executive Associate Dean.
